Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP)?

Licensed Educational Psychologists (called LEPs) provide assessments, advocacy, training and/or consulting for any child or adult who is looking to better understand how they learn and how to best access their education.

  • How do you handle payments/billing?

I do a complimentary 30-minute intake phone call to best understand the needs of the student (regardless of the type of service).

For IEEs via a school district, the billing and contracting is done directly with the district on behalf of the family.

For all other services, I provide a written contract up front and require 50% payment before I begin and 50% payment prior to the provision of the assessment report/meeting.  For hourly services, I require full payment up front.

At this time I do not take insurance, but can assist you with a receipt that you may be able to submit for full or partial reimbursement.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

I request 48-hour advanced notice if a student/adult cannot be made available for a scheduled appointment.  If no notice is given, payment for the session is expected.

  • Who, where and how do you provide services?

Who:  I serve school-aged students and adults seeking to better understand how they learn best.  I do not serve preschooler's at this time.

Where & How:  Typically assessments are done at the school setting where the child attends school, other office locations can be arranged on a case-by-case bases.  Counseling/consulting are typically done via phone or virtual meeting platforms.

  • How do I get started?

Please give me a call--I offer a complimentary, no charge 30-minute intake phone call to best understand the needs of the student.  Also, if I cannot be of assistance, I may be able to refer you to another agency who can assist you better.
